“Turn Me Down” is the first collaborative release by New Orleans rap/hip-hop/soul artist, Pell, and indie-electronic duo, Louis The Child. The underlying beat for this track is feel-good and playful; a suitable sound for Jared Pellerin’s enlightening chorus in which he sings more than raps: “I’ve been feeling way too loud / Resonating through the clouds / They can never turn me down.” This is a carefree tune with with soulful melodies and autobiographical lyrics; where Chance, Drake and Kid Cudi flow together. The dancey keys that Louis The Child layers here paints a vivid picture of the good old days when you’d hear the ice-cream truck rolling past your house as a kid on a warm summer evening. If you want to feel this way again, keep your ears open for Pellican Child’s debut EP post-New Years Day and give “Turn Me Down” a listen.
